A hub for the next generation of audio journalists
In early 2024 Canadaland launched CanadaLabs. In its inaugural year a series of initiatives were piloted including an audio journalism fellowship program, a short audio competition and an ongoing series of workshops.
These initiatives were meant to provide new opportunities for audio journalists and creators to learn valuable skills, build their networks, and get their stories in front of Canadians from coast to coast.
Special thank you to our lead workshop partner Acast, our supporters Amazon Music and Perspective Fund!
What is CanadaLabs?
Over 10 years, Canadaland has been a leading independent news and podcasting, reaching millions of listeners every year with in-depth news, analysis, and investigations.
As the journalism crisis deepens, Canadaland is embracing its role in sustaining the future of independent Canadian journalism by empowering new voices and perspectives.
We are excited to announce the launch of CanadaLabs, allowing us to share our knowledge, resources, and platform with both emerging and working journalists and audio-makers, helping them to learn, network, build skills and careers, and develop audiences for their work.
